Frequently Asked Questions

I want to start a business, what do I do?

The following steps will help you get started. (Note: The number of steps may vary depending on the nature of the business you want to start.) They do not necessarily have to be followed in the order they appear.

  • Develop an idea you would like to investigate.
  • Research your business idea. Conduct a feasibility study to determine whether or not this idea could turn into a viable business.
  • Find out if there are any regulations which could prevent you from starting this business or hamper your success.
  • Do a skills and lifestyle audit. Is this the right time to start the business or do you need to upgrade some of your skills before you get going?
  • Write a business plan. Talk to a lawyer and accountant about protecting yourself and your assets.
  • If you decide to go into business, decide on the most appropriate structure. Register your name if necessary.
  • Identify a business location. Open your business bank account and arrange financing.
  • Organize your office, your accounting, filing and your client contact systems.
  • Develop promotional tools to set yourself up for effective selling.
  • Enjoy the experience!

Ambassador Program

“Don’t just stand for the success of other women—insist on it.” Gail Blanke, President and CEO, Lifedesigns

You Make us Stronger

Be an ambassador.  Leave a legacy.

W.E. has a Vision:  All Saskatchewan entrepreneurs have an equal opportunity to achieve success and recognition.

Building on the success of our 21-year-history, the organization is poised to embark on a new direction guided by a strategic plan that focuses on innovation, excellence and growth.  A key element of this new direction is the creation of a new collective of “Ambassadors,” an exclusive group of entrepreneurs who endorse the mandate of W.E. and can assist the organization in achieving its mission and vision.

Ambassadors are high-ranking representatives of a country or organization—respected, diplomatic and strong leaders.

YOU could be one of ours!

Our volunteer ambassadors are entrepreneurs and business professionals who are influential, well connected and successful.  They believe in the mission and mandate of W.E. and support not only women in business, but the business community of Saskatchewan as a whole.

As an Ambassador, your skills, knowledge and passion will be of great benefit to our members and our organization.  You will provide a personal connection between W.E. and the community, and a testimony to the value of our programs and services.  You share your personal stories about W.E. and its support of Saskatchewan business, and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.  You offer access to your business networks and connect our members to the wider business community, helping them to achieve success.

The benefits to becoming an Ambassador are many.  Your leadership and communication skills will be showcased.  W.E. will provide you with many networking and public speaking opportunities.  We will be delighted to enhance your brand by identifying you as a W.E. mentor within the organization, mentoring circles and the business community, and add your profile to the W.E. website, annual report, social media streams and other communications and publications.

Be an Ambassador.  You will leave a legacy built on community service and business growth.

W.E. and You.  Stronger Together.
