Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of 8 members. All such Directors must meet the qualifications stated in the Act and the Articles, and must be full members of the organization. To ensure consistency on the Board, Directors are elected to a two-year term and can serve a maximum of three consecutive terms. In February each year, Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan Inc. invites its membership to nominate individuals for election to the Board. Elections take place at the Annual General Meeting held each year in accordance with the bylaws. 

The Board of Directors has been structured to ensure full provincial representation.  The Board’s eight elected members consist of representatives from the following regions: two from Saskatoon and area (30 km.); two from Regina and area (30 km.); two from the South Region 1; and two from the North Region 2. Criteria for Board Members:


Peggie Koenig, Chair

Peggie is the principal of Koenig & Associates, a firm she founded in 1994. As a senior level HR executive and entrepreneur her professional expertise includes recruitment and retention, compensation and rewards, strategic human resource initiatives, organizational development and performance management. Peggie is a representative for the Saskatoon region.

Tracey Kowalchuk, Vice Chair

Tracey is director at TK & Associates Inc. She is a Leadership Development Coach certified with the International Coach Federation (ICF). Tracey guides leaders through team development and one-on-one coaching to generate important insights, gain clarity, focus, and make decisions to improve performance and achieve results. Tracey joined the Board in 2011 and is representing the Northern region.

Bev Anderson

Bev is an image consultant, author and workshop facilitator. She is the owner of Bev Anderson Consulting where she assists clients to explore their full potential and to enhance their self-confidence. As a member of Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan and a W.E. mentoring circle, Bev brings strong communication to the community. She represents the Regina region. 

Kellie Garrett

Kellie Garrett is the CEO of Kellie Garrett Enterprises, a firm that provides strategy consulting; executive, career and life coaching; and professional speaking. She spent many years in senior management at Farm Credit Canada in business strategy, enterprise risk management, marketing communications, brand, and knowledge roles. She is an associate certified coach (ACC) and a certified board director (ICD.D). Kellie was named one of Canada's Top 25 Women of Influence in 2012.

Nancy Maurer

Nancy has been a member of Women Entrepreneurs since 2012 and represents southeast Saskatchewan. She has a Masters in Life Experience after nearly 40 years of farming and dairying alongside her husband, raising 4 children, and a 21 year career as a Combined Lab and X-ray Technician. Retirement in 2012 allowed Nancy the freedom to pursue her desire to be an entrepreneur and in May of 2013 she founded “Discovery Ranch” a non-profit organization located 1¼ hours east of Regina near Grenfell. Nancy is confident that her colorful background and ties to the rural community will bring a fresh viewpoint to the Board of Directors.


Lana Sheppard

Lana represents the Saskatoon Region and is the owner of Checks n Balances Business Services Inc. She has been a very active member of Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan for 8 years and brings an extensive knowledge of bookkeeping and business, including 30 years of experience in small business. As the owner of a small business, Lana brings a strong network to Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan with a client base of over 300 clients and memberships in a variety of business groups such as the Greater Saskatoon Chamber.
